It's designed to require Logitech software, which is only available for Windows and Mac.Without that, there's still a way to fix the internal volume level by dropping to the command line and running alsamixer, but if you're not a linux expert and don't want to figure that stuff out, then stay away. Out-of-the-box, the speakers can barely be heard unless you over-crank the desktop volume level, which generates crackling.
Driving 2 external monitors in extended mode on a Macbook M1 or M2 is the number one job for a dock in our company. This dock will drive only a single monitor. I'm very disappointed in Logitech. I was envisioning one of these docks on every manager's desk. Logitech support say you can buy a USB to DisplayLink adapter from some other unspecified company to accomplish 2 monitors on a Macbook. But, we think that is the job of the dock. We did connect an older Diamond USB to HDMI adapter and it worked. Also, this dock has no ethernet port...the number 2 job of a dock. Again, Logitech says you can plug in a USB to Ethernet dongle. So, this is a just a dongle collector, designed to clutter up your desk. The sound from the speakers has rather boomy bass, not good for intelligible speech. Other that these reasons that we're returning the dock, it is solidly built and bluetooth connects to a smartphone. I'm off to buy some more Plugable triple monitor docks. The best all around dock that we've tested.
It's plugged in and working and all of a sudden it stops working, it's not even recognized by the logitech software. To make it work again it is necessary to disconnect it from the computer and reconnect it after a few seconds. and also on some occasions the sound is distorted. I use a Macbook pro M1
It works as presented on the videos and on amazon. I have used it with apple and linux products without problems. Good speakers and easy integration to the desktop devices.
Did not work well as a dock or speakerphone. Tried tech support for about a week before giving up. My plan was to use this in conjunction with a Logi stream cam for zooms. With the cam connected to the dock, the buttons functioned correctly as well as the software. However, the cam regularly began turning off around 40min into every zoom session.With no cam connected and using the dock as a speakerphone, the echo cancellation became so bad that few of my words came through no matter what zoom settings I used. This was sitting still with little movement and only normal vocal inflection.I did find the sound quality to be very good though. Good luck if you decide to take the plunge.
